Theater
Mireille Tap once worked briefly in a hair salon and discovered the intimate sensation of giving a head massage to a stranger. That fascinating discomfort formed the basis for Buddy Treatment. With this performance, she invites you into a disorienting experience. Guided by an ASMR-like, absurdist mantra, you follow her voice like instructions. The performance plays with boundaries of proximity, trust and suggestion. The line between care and control blurs. The last time she performed the piece was just before the coronavirus crisis, in February 2020. At Boring Festival, she presents a revised version with live sounds by Jan Bert Rahder and his harmonium.
