House rules

At Boring Festival, we have a zero tolerance policy towards hateful behavior and a lack of respect for anyone's bodily autonomy. Our focus lies on preventing these behaviours and helping victims. When our safety team sees or hears about incidents, the first step is to provide a safer place for the victim and removing the alleged perpetrator. There is no room for discussion or thorough investigation at the chaotic setting of a festival, so the best we can do is believe the victim.

What we consider hateful behavior:

Racist remarks

Sexist remarks

Ableist remarks

Hateful remarks about someone's body size or shape

Trans- or homophobic remarks

Physical or sexual intimidation

A lack or asking for consent for physical touch

All our venues will have visible signage throughout various points, including the entrance. Our location managers, recognizable by their blue overalls, are trained and there to help if something happens. This also goes for all working staff at our venues.

In the lead-up to the festival, safety will continue to be emphasized on our online channels.

Every year we reflect, collect feedback and improve our safety standards. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact marketing@boringfestival.nl.
