Escapism and empathy trips through film

Important: This film and performance combination has a strict no late entry policy. Please arrive on time. Once the doors close, entry will no longer be possible.

Two short movies with a performance.

Le Palace

In a modern world where control becomes increasingly important, Le Palace takes you on a journey through the night. Inspired by the legendary Parisian nightclub from the '80s, this experimental short film explores the role of free nightlife. With you as the protagonist. Can escapism and the desire for freedom continue to exist? Does reckless escapism still have a place in our world?

Yentl Bakker (2000) is a multidisciplinary maker and researcher working with photography, text, film and archive material. Daan Kouijzer (1999) is a self-taught director and editor focused on social issues of the modern world. Together they make a film about the night and the growing desire for control.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming tells the story of a girl who loses herself in the world of an unknown man sitting opposite her on the train. As she is drawn deeper into his inner experience, the train and its passengers become part of that experience. On a journey where empathy and imagination are both powerful and vulnerable at the same time, the two passengers grow closer without speaking.
