Boaz Blume and Brendan Lodder are deaf performers who blow up the boundaries of communication with Exit Comfortzone!. Together with dancer Shanice Mitchell and producer Thijme Ebskamp, they create a universe where sign language, music and dance meet as equals.
For years, sign language was forbidden, an oppression with enormous impact on deaf people. Now Boaz and Brendan show that sign language is more than interpreters on telly. It's art. Visual sign language meets dance as visual language and specially developed sounds, beats and foleys. Who inspires whom? Exit Comfortzone! provides the answer. This is sign language as weapon, as joy, as revolution.
